Size of hosting company?

depends really, Smaller hosting has great support and you get fast upgrades and some smaller hosting are cheaper then others but there hardware are not that great, you don't get allot of space as the larger ones.

I think smaller hosting companies are good to go with as they always provide better and dedicated services. This is because they are more concerned to build up their reputation with the bigger companies. Apart from this the resources always matter for what you choose as your provider.

I always prefer to go with smaller hosting companies because of the dedication and the lower prices. There are so much now that they compete with each other which is good for the customers.

Larger companies are good if your working on something big and professional, like a e commerce store etc. They offer excellent SSL and domain privacy.

Its always up to you to choose and decide which hosting company you prefer, we all have different tastes and choosing. Just watch out for some companies and be safe.

I don't usually look at the size of the company before choosing it. For me, it's all about the reputation online, the support, the services offered, etc. In a lot of cases (like MDD Hosting), that means a smaller company. In a couple, that means a larger one.

The only type I don't use are EIG brands, because the company is a parasite that's ruining the reputation of the hosting industry.

I don't have a preferred size. I use whomever is willing to give me the best offer.
With a smaller host they will have more time for clients than bigger hosts. With bigger hosts they have a reputation. You can't go around choosing sizes 😛

I prefer smaller company, they are more personal and tend to go out there way to help.

I prefer medium sized hosts. Small hosts often don't have the money to hire people for 24/7 support and they don't often have their own servers which often aren't as reliable. I have been with some large hosts and when you request support, you just get the feeling that they just don't care based on their reply. I had some good experiences with medium sized hosts with great support and uptime. They are always helpful and always trying to keep you as their loyal customer. Furthermore the good ones have 24/7 support and you don't have to wait until tomorrow to get an answer to your pre-sales question.

Large enough to not go under, but small enough to still have that personal feel. I want to be truly valued as a customer, all the while I want to know the host will not be financially incapable of providing its services in the long future.

I prefer a larger hosting company. To me, a larger hosting company has been around long enough to get big and that leads me to think that I could put more trust into a larger hosting company rather than a smaller hosting company. But, this is just my opinion.

Similar to my way of thinking. I like smaller hosts because, as Empire said, you get support questions answered quicker than you would say, if there were tons of members utilizing the same services you're using Another reason I prefer a smaller company is because it can be easier to get to know whoever's on staff, and they get to know you and things work out better that way.

I don't really care about the size, personally. I'm more about dependability. I need 24/7 support, and some of the newer hosts cannot offer that. I'd also be worried about the host randomly going down or closing if I pick a new host. I would personally aim for a host where I know the owner, and if I cannot find one of those, I'd go for a larger host.

new hosting are willing to work harder to get the traffic, most new ones thinks out of the world. Yeah there are some rubbish copy and paste hosting service which I wouldn't go with, and that the big hosting service have great good server system that doesn't go down, yet support is crap for host gator
