I was thinking of buying a smf multi forum, where you can get an smf forum withoutn uloading downloading ect.
i was i was a great idea, it cost about £60 for me to build the website, do you guys think it would be a good deal? It will be free free for people to get the forums
Well if you have the time, patience, enough time for support for users, advertisement means, good enough hosting to contain a number of accounts and a good domain + ideas then yeah would be a good thing to do -happy- It isn't easy setting up a successful host, make sure you fully research the background and use websites/blogs/forums for help and tips.
It all depends on the amount of effort you are willing to put into such a thing. SMF isn't a widely free hosted software, and since it is good software, you might be able to become one of the few big hosts for it. That is, if you have the time and willingness to help solve each problem and issue your user's come across.
If you think you can, go for it man. Chances like these don't come often ~wink~
It might be quite good to offer smf as ghost said it isn't a widely used free hosted software. With phpBB3 the internet is crowded with free hosts. You need to have alot of knowledge of running forums and updating the software and adding mods and so on.
There are some hosts for it, but none that are very good. If you do choose to make one, I highly suggest getting to know the software for a while, as there are a lot of things that yoiu will have to remove (about 1/2 the admin CP).
