I found this over at Imgur, and this has got to be one of the best ways to gain the attention of the people who run Imgur. He even managed to get it on the front page because people liked it so much, I do hope that he get's the job, or at least Imgur give him an interview. 🙂

^One of the steps to becoming a President is to campaign and demonstrate that you care for the country (or company) your seeking out. The same this man is doing.

In the context provided, I agree that his profile is in a way a sort of Resume for his skills. He is using the media he wants to become part of to promote his interest. That promotional strategy makes a lot of sense, he is bringing interest towards Imgur and himself. I assume he tried conventional methods but perhaps they didn't work, thus had to think outside the box! Its a lot harder to make creative content versus sending an email with a resume attached.

I'm a software engineer in India. Trust me, employers love guys who have humor sense and be a bit different. Ofcourse you will need a professional resume, but passing an interview takes lot more than qualification.
