Site Info:

SocialME is an online internet forum where users can talk about almost anything. These can include Food, Politics, Music, Gaming, Art, Anime/Manga, Internet, History, Science, School, Comedy and lot's more. A lot of forums centre themselves around 1(Maybe 2) topics and that's it. SocialME doesn't have a core topic and so you can talk about anything. If you can't find a forum dedicated to your favourite thing then come join SocialME.

The site uses SMF(Simple Machines Forum) and is hosted using 000Webhost at the moment in time. The site doesn't have a theme yet but I will address this soon. In the meantime, I will be promoting the site, adding more topics, new features and planning out some stuff on the whiteboard.

Please do read the rules and registration agreement before signing up. Have fun!

SAying it's unsafe to visit and also you might want to check your URL as it's an SMF install URL

I’m guessing it’s due to my webhost. I’m trying to figure out why.

I don’t understand why it’s saying it’s unsafe to visit? I’ll look into it more and if it persists then I’ll find a much better host. I might ask someone that I know if 10xhost or whatever it is, if it’s good. He uses 10xhost and I can get onto his site just fine.

It’s currently nighttime for me and so I’ll investigate it in the morning. I am sorry for the inconvenience with the forum.

I got that error on my phone but no my PC. As stated above your reply, I will look into it. It probably has something to do with the host.

I do thank all of you for pointing out these things and will do my best to make sure you can access the site without these problems.

I'm getting that error too. Please fix this as soon as possible.

As stated, it might be about the webhost. The site also lets you upload flash content and seeing as flash is being killed, it might Be reason.

I have started looking into the problem. If your browser does say that access is blocked then there should be a button that let's you continue to the site. I have only had this is issue with Firefox on my IPhone and I found a button that letted me continue to the site. The URL is something I'm not sure about. Again, sorry for the inconvienence. This should take around 1 - 3 days.

Well, my browser doesn't, and I'm using Firefox 60 ESR. It's not recommended for anyone to visit insecure sites, whether it's safe or not. No one wishes to take any risks. Hope you get it sorted soon.

I tested it using Chrome on my Samsung Tab E. When I put in 'https://', at the URL beginning, I got the warning. When I used 'http://', for the url, the warning never came. If it does say the warning, look for something that say's 'Advanced' or whatever. There should be a button that let's you go onto the site without any problems. Now that I know a bit of what happens with the warning, I just need to get rid of that 'smf_2-0-15_install' in the URL. If not, I will probably have to transfer hosts.

I'm setting up a version of the site but with x10hosting. I'll then compare the 000webhost version and the x10hosting version to see if there's a difference.

I don't see it at all. Trust me. I'm getting the exact same error message as @SarahGirl got. Nothing else, I'm afraid :emoji-confused:

Okay. I've got the site but it's using x10hosting instead of 000webhost. Just give me a bit of time and then the x10host version should be available without any problems.

The site now has a new host! I've tested it on my laptop, tablet and IPhone using Firefox, Chrome and Edge and they all work without any problems(For me anyway. The problems might still occur for you.) I will update the original post with the new link. Have fun! If you continue to experience any problems then just tell me.

I've accessed the new site and I can confirm that everything's fine now 🙂 However, I'm greeted with this wonderful message as soon as I got on to it:

"Only registered members are allowed to access this section.
Please login below or register an account with SocialME."

Uhm... what?

Yeah, ummmm.... The site takes you to the homepage immediatley. You'll have to sign up before accessing the site. If you do not like it then I'll change it. I guess I'm just too greedy for users and growth.

Just change it, please. No one's wants to go on a forum only then to be forced to join. You aren't going to get new members that way. Trust me.

What you just did is like you setting up a shop, people come to it, only then to not see anything.
