Before I start I'd like to say that understand it is a personal choice in the end, I just would like to know what would you choose if you were in my shoes and why as this can help me to grasp better my situation. I'd love to read some opinions from you. This community has always given me good input and points of view I hadn't thought of so I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask... and rant, please excuse me as writing concise points is not my forte.

1. Basically I can't decide if it is time to move on with my main project Roczuz.
As in let it be like it currently is in forumotion, re-start in MyBB o start something else (A zelda forum perhaps?) in MyBB.

I know some of you would say that I could just crawl my forumotion database into the new community and that would be awesome. However the latest attempt I've heard other people go through have ended in failure so I really don't think that is an option at all.

I think that some of you have had way more projects than me and can offer me some insight as
I don't know if...

A). I am being pessimist and killing something with potential (Many of you seemed to like the uniqueness of the 2 general forums in one / Half English - half Spanish idea. So it could work even without the people that funded it and helped it grow. Now that I have tried MyBB and Xenforo with another Spanish project I feel very frustrated I can't install plugins and stuff with Roczuz. I feel it would work so much better on a MyBB this could be the fire I need.

B). I am clinging and dragging a project it is really dead and I should let go. I have my pride on how much has lasted but I do look back to it and the truth is that I am not fond of the idea to start over a third time with no echo but I am too frustrated to continue in forumotion.

If you have been through similar experience during your forum administration I'd love to hear how you dealt with it. Did you decided to move on with another project. Did you decided to buckle up and work in making the forum something closer to your vision? How did that pay up?

2. The alternative
The other option I have is to focus instead in creating a Zelda Community. I see some Zelda forums around but most of them neglect focusing on the franchise or are just too heavy in the ways they get along with everybody. I want to create a Zelda forum that is friendly and that really offers a good amount of Zones to talk about the games, theories, share videos, etc. Basically the English version of my Spanish Zelda Community: La Leyend de Hyrule.

However I wouldn't make it on Xenforo just MyBB as I don't have the economy stability to pay for two forum licenses renewals. I am already saving for the Xenforo one for LldH. Anyway, I love Zelda Forums and I don't want to make something like Zelda Universe or Zelda Dungeon. I am aiming something smaller.

So after reading all the you can help me by posting your opinion...

As a "potential new member": Would you rather join a project like Roczuz or Zelda?

As a fellow administrator: Which project makes more sense to follow? If you've been through something similar what did you do?

Thank you very much in advance to whoever took the time to read and reply.

Re: Restart Roczuz (bilingual general) or move on?

I suppose I find your community slightly confusing. It's half English half Spanish, and I assume that you provided in general the same content for English users and Spanish users. I could be wrong, though, since I don't understand Spanish at all.

Roczuz is a general discussion forum. The strength is that you have broad selection of topics to adapt into the forum, but it can be hard to maintain because it's too general. A Zelda community, on the other hand, is more specific in content, and you tend to always have news or updates once in a while which you can use to sustain the activity better.

As far as software goes, I'm forever a fan of MyBB, so I'll definitely recommend that, haha.

The next question is probably how far have you tried to revive Roczuz and what the result is. If it has been few times and the result is not too good, I'd say it's better to move on since the community is probably already bored or tired.

Yeah, it mirror the areas more or less, but the discussion still not exactly the same as I am not always duplicating the threads in order to keep discussion varied for the people that use both sides. Also the users mark a very distinct feeling as the community gets along differently and are different people on each side.

Yeah. Roczuz thrived when we were a bunch of friends sharing our opinions on different things pretty often, we were never a huge a community just a very active few souls. Still, it is way easier (in my head at least) convince someone I know from another forum to join a general one that to join a Zelda one. That said, I feel I can do a better job with a Zelda Forum because I think no matter how much time goes by, I still gonna love forums and Zelda so it is a great match! XD

That's a great question, the kind I need. Time to face things cold headed. Yes the community is so bored is not even there any more, this year really what I am planting is if it is worth to Renew the project or forget completely, but I think with that I am neglecting to recognize that saying that I don't have the motivation any more is a huge deal. I have been trying to bring it back more than a few times but I haven't been constant enough to generate results. It really is B, isn't?

However if only I saw some response that could kick me back I know that. So I have decided I'd send a Thank you email to the community, explain my plans and see how it goes. Time to move on...
