Im sick of this Bs*** we need to find this hacker and put a stop to It. I say we hunt this no life down And GET REVENGE.

Get Revenge? No. That's illegal.

Get Justice? Yes. I suggest that those affected should report any information that you have to your local authorities.

@Rick Ace; I never said anything about doing something Illegal. 🙂

Ah. I was going off of what Eternal said, and assumed you wanted to join that boat.

Nope Justice can be revenge for some people I say we find this hackers Isp and get his internet stopped for illegal activities.

But the justice system is more of a justice system than a revenge system. 😛

However, it's more of a revenge system than a healing system.

Why would you focus on him though? There a plenty of people willing to crack your password if its rather unsafe.

Yeah But If we can stop one kid, the Internet will be a very very slightly better place. For the victimes and for Fp.

Actually, I think basic security is not a lot to ask for, these days. You wouldn't leave money or your personal belongings lying around visibly in your car, would you?

Use stronger passwords. Use common sense. Pick the right forum software, and always stay updated. Check for suspicious activity. These things can go far.

Oh, God, the memories of Oliver & TayneC8 😀 Those were the first 2 names that popped in my head while reading through this topic just now. Not the fact they're capable of doing this, but just how they really believed they were this hacking elite duo back in the day.

I've not heard of either of these; what year were they active in? I only really got active in 2011.

No, don't.

That's what he wants.

If the mods on this forum want to stick up for the rest of members who being hacked, he should release more info on this hacker.

Yeah, they were that much of a joke, I think I even offered them to hack PS back at the time and if they were successful I offered them some sort of reward, was so long ago I can't even remember, however they never came through. Sad little kids.

They were long before your time.

I still don't think it's right that we name our hackers like this. Oliver wasn't that sophisticated. If someone with more experience targeted us, he'd use better techniques. Hopefully Oliver is past. But that doesn't mean real hackers won't come around. In any case, in this world, you'll have to keep your forum safe by keeping it as secure as you can.

The way I see the situation is as follows. The attacks seem to have stopped so in my opinion there is little to be gained from releasing any details of the user. Additionally, he likes the attention. If we release details about him then he will like it. This user has come to this site to read topics like this on many occasions. One reason why some previous topics on the matter have been hidden. One thing me and Fergal learnt from the Oliver and Tayne days were do not give them the attention. The more people talk about them, make threats against them and the more angrier users got, the happier they were and they carried on with the attacks because they knew they would get alot of attention.

Finally, I don't see why anyone needs the information. No one is taking legal action. People just seem to want to know either out of curiosity or just to get revenge. Provoking him by trying to get revenge could start him up again.

The best thing in my opinion is to learn from what has happened, be more security aware and move on. If you spend the time on securing your site rather than getting revenge then you will be in a better position next time a kid wants to ruin your site. FP has many enemies and many people have tried to destroy us. The worst that has ever happened so far is a staff members account being compromised due to password reuse from another site and a few topics deleted. The reason we have had so little issues is that we spend alot of time protecting this site from bored kids. We are not unhackable (no site is) but just some simple steps can massively reduce the chance of a skiddie damaging your site. In a way you should be glad that all that happened was a redirect to another site in most cases. If your sites DB got released or if your site started spreading malware, you would have had some serious issues. That is why everyone should look at their sites security... even if they were not targeted by this one person.
