Have you ever made a forum or joined a forum where you or the owner was in the heat of the moment and had created that forum only to realize that you/they can't run that forum based on whatever reasons? So it goes inactive fairly fast, the members quit posting pretty much. All of staff goes inactive and you're standing there thinking "what happened?" . Have you ever experienced this before?
Yes. My first forum actually. I was new to the internet world and thought to myself I should just create a forum, and it kinda went downhill from there. 😛
0 experience, no idea what a forum was, and a niche that was literally the stupidest idea ever. 😛 It wasn't the best idea to make that forum, but it got me into the forum world so I cannot complain that much. 😛
Forums start and fail all the time. I don't think there's anything wrong with that though, personally. Forums are just things that connect the people who use them together. If one forum fails, the same people can join a different one
Yes, unfortunately I've seen it happen multiple times. Generally, a forum owner gets bored. It doesn't necessarily mean that they don't know how to run a forum, just that they get bored and move on to something else... Granted I've been a member of a forum that's just... Died because the admins gave up and closed the board. It was still very active when they decided to close.
Yes. If it happens a lot with that particular forum owner I'll begin to look out for their forums and then not join them. Like people who seem to have a new forum everyday or run 5+ forums.
