When you are buying appliances for your house, do you prefer stainless steel, black, or white? Why is that?

I prefer stainless steel. I just feel like they have a much classier look, and they tend to go with more shades of cabinets.

I definitely agree. At the moment, my house has black appliances, except the microwave. It came with brand new appliances, though, so we’re not really worrying about getting the latest and best looking ones right now. We will definitely be upgrading to those soon, though. It will math our kitchen a LOT a better once we switch.

It depends on the particular use of the item. If I need a microwave to heat up quicker than 1,000, then I'd go with stainless steel. Fridge? Who doesn't buy stainless steel fridges? Unless you are buying old ones I guess.

Depends. I'd much rather have painted (black or graphite, usually) steel. 😛

If it has to be plastic, then I avoid piano/glossy black as much as possible because it sucks fingerprints from across the known universe. Matte black is my preferred plastic, especially for electronics. But only if painted metal isn't an option.

Why? Hmm... I guess I'm just a sucker for dark colors. My favorite combinations usually involve black, blue or purple.

Black and white is far superior. Stainless steel makes it a chore to make things look clean. x_x

Stainless steel sometimes. My old apartments had white appliances, which I found boring. I have black appliances now which I really like!

I would prefer mostly black appliances and maybe stainless steel for one thing 🙂

I do have items that are stainless steel. but covered in white covers so that it doesn't make it dark. So it's white appliances-ish. But like all things that they don't last long. doesn't matter how much it cost since hey last the same amount if you got an cheap appliances. Never last long anymore and so much wast after wast.

My dad had white ones and he smoked and everything turned yellow!! I scrubbed for hours trying to get it off and it wouldn’t come off. I hate white. I thought most stainless steel was fingerprint proof? 😱

I could never have white electronics. They look super cheap. Piano black too, but white more so.

I can see why you wouldn't like white then. I feel like stainless steel always looks smudgy. Of course, I'm so poor that it's been a while since I've seen a stainless steel appliance. XD
