Starting forum on ZB, Need your advice.

Dear Masters,
well i am starting my last forum on ZB. i am not starting my forum on ZB coz of nerd domain, chilled echos, the mil. lounge but i am starting my forum on ZB because i am huge ZB mark. my first wwe forum was hosted on ZB as well. anyway i am starting my new The Dynamic Zone forum on Zetaboards and i need your some good advice. and i installed unique theme (not that dark one). u guys are master of forum world and i am noob. thanks for your help in advance !

As for hosting with Zetaboards, I personally wouldn't because unless it's changed you can't get your database from them if you ever want to move.

If you're planning on going free host... Jcink Forum Hosting (JFH) or IcyBoards (IB) are your top two to be picking from. (Ignore proboards because it's in the same boat as zetaboards when it comes to database transfer. And skip Invisionfree because Jcink is just so much better.)

JFH offers free database backups at any time. Though if you're trying to convert you have to know how to go from IPB1.3 to newer.

Meanwhile IB doesn't have free database backups (you can either get premium which allows you to take backups, but that costs like 10$ a month, or you can buy a single backup for 20$). But conversely it gives you a MyBB 1.6 database so you can easily continue your forum self-hosted with MyBB (or easily convert it to another modern software).

Both have virtually all the same features as ZB, but just more on top of that.

Unlike posters above, I do not think choosing ZetaBoards is the wrong choice. I've used ZB few times in the past, and been part of forums there too. I enjoyed it as a member and as an administrator. It is easy to use. And as far as I know there is no real limitation with what you can customize; the theme files can be edited as much as you want through ACP. You don't have the database in your hands, sure, but if everything goes well you won't need it to transfer to another place, right?

It does not matter what software/host you decided to go with. What counts is the effort.

What advice are you looking for? I assume it isn't advice on whether ZB was the right choice otherwise you'd not have presumably made the board already.

thanks for advice Guys i think i got your answer btw in future i need to move away from Zb can i use Crawler Converters ? or ZB will file cort case on me ?
