As some of you may know, I work in the field of Human Resources. Recently, I've been offered a job at a Casino managing their HR department (I actually start Monday!). I was hoping to see if some of you would be willing to answer some questions for me for a internal/external equity survey I'm doing!
What is one job trait you cannot stand in a manager/supervisor? (I.e, micromanaging, doesn't help, etc.)
If you could implement one thing in your current job, what would it be? (And what is your current job??)
How important are medical benefits to you?
If you could have no PTO for two years, but get offered free medical benefits on a decent medical plan, what would you think?
How important is a 401k? Would it help you determine if you wanted to work for a company or not?
Name one thing your company could do right now to improve employee moral?
What would you want if you were awarded employee of the month?
That's all! I appreciate everyone who is willing to fill out those questions!
What is one job trait you cannot stand in a manager/supervisor? (I.e, micromanaging, doesn't help, etc.) I hate a manager that takes all the credit.
If you could implement one thing in your current job, what would it be? (And what is your current job??) one hour lunches
How important are medical benefits to you? Extremely main reason I still work there.
If you could have no PTO for two years, but get offered free medical benefits on a decent medical plan, what would you think? Nope need time away from work.
How important is a 401k? Would it help you determine if you wanted to work for a company or not? I have a 403 B which is great, with a company match.
Name one thing your company could do right now to improve employee moral? Raise the base pay scale
What would you want if you were awarded employee of the month? vacation time.
I Know answers are a little short but I like to get to the point.
Well, No idea if my answers will help but I try and answer them as best I can, If that helps. The more you have the better, right?
What is one job trait you cannot stand in a manager/supervisor? (I.e, micromanaging, doesn't help, etc.) There are good managers and bad, but think that most managers get paid little more as £12 an hour however they take on far more stressful work and they have to deal with clients to the point that they have far more hours and when they go home they just crash on the floor. the supervisor should respect and keep an eye open for keeping employers safe.
If you could implement one thing in your current job, what would it be? (And what is your current job??) Nothing really comes to my mind since I do not work, but like to have support services teams that if employers need to talk and help in hand with anything they can talk to them and deal with their problems. And hour lunch break.
How important are medical benefits to you? I do not care, that's me but if you been into an accident then they need to cover it since it's under their roof and you do not need to pay for a broken leg. So yes, even that most and others do not want it, I say very important.
If you could have no PTO for two years, but get offered free medical benefits on a decent medical plan, what would you think? I say cut boh in half so that the employees get both. End of the day people work to earn their living and if they get good pay and support with good medical then all good. If the company is good and helps their employees then they will stay with them working.
How important is a 401k? Would it help you determine if you wanted to work for a company or not? Higher is better right.
Name one thing your company could do right now to improve employee morale? Working in a safe environment that makes workers do their job without the needs of stressing out that they have a time frame to get things done, and if they need to have I short pee break they are allowed to take 5mins off to do so. If employees feel safe and healthy and they are being happy and able to talk to their other people as they work, they get the job done smooth.
What would you want if you were awarded employee of the month? Same say vacation, but for me, at this times I want double money or at least get paid more.
@Thomasss I haven't worked in a very long time so my opinions would be outdated lol But I wanted to congratulate you on your new job! Hope it goes well for you 🙂
Congrats on your new job! It's been 4 years since I last worked but I still have strong opinions on some of this so here goes:
What is one job trait you cannot stand in a manager/supervisor? (I.e, micromanaging, doesn't help, etc.) Being bossy. A really good boss doesn't just order people around, a true leader listens to others without being condescending.
If you could implement one thing in your current job, what would it be? (And what is your current job??) Well, if I could have implemented something at my previous job it would have been to have mini trainings again for some of the things the engineers would forget. That was mostly because they were so good and focused on their own stuff that they would forget some of the basic stuff..
How important are medical benefits to you? Medical benefits are extremely important!
If you could have no PTO for two years, but get offered free medical benefits on a decent medical plan, what would you think? That would not be acceptable. A decent employer would find a way to do both.
How important is a 401k? Would it help you determine if you wanted to work for a company or not? 401k is definitely a necessity. If I worked part-time it wouldn't be as important but as a career it is definitely valuable.
Name one thing your company could do right now to improve employee moral? The things my company did to improve moral was to have big group events during the day that lasted about an hour. It gave us a reprieve from doing work but energized us. Some things were chili cook-offs, treats down in the main lobby, contests with prizes.
What would you want if you were awarded employee of the month? I don't think I would want anything.
