ZetaBoards has been working with Tapatalk to create a free forum hosting platform that is a worthy upgrade for ZetaBoards.

As a result, ZetaBoards will begin an upgrade process to move all of its communities to Tapatalk’s platform.

Some of the benefits of the new platform include:
- Revenue Sharing of advertising revenue
- Full mobile support including native iOS/Android App, a responsive mobile theme as well as AMP support out of the box.
- The option to accept donations for your forum
- The option to Premium memberships to access designated forums
- Single Sign-on support for multi forums.
- Robust GDPR support for European Union visitors.
- Enhanced spam detection and removal.

We have been working on a major series of updates to ZetaBoards. These upgrades will now be happening on the Tapatalk forum platform. The development resources that Tapatalk can provide to the platform means more feature updates, more feature testing, and more frequent updates. And we will be adding some ZetaBoards features and functionality to Tapatalk in the coming weeks.

We want the upgrade to be as smooth as possible for all ZetaBoards' communities. If you have a specific concern or question we would be happy to answer it.

Live previews of ZetaBoards forums’ on Tapatalk’s platform will be made available soon for testing the migration process.
This is what had been announced at the official ZetaBoards support forum yesterday and as it suggests, it will be fully merging with a thing called Tapatalk and I tell you, everybody that saw this are raging. So from what's been said, especially from here, Brandon has officially betrayed us.

I can't believe this...

We had discussions regards that forums are dying from social media, This new announcement from Brandon proofs some members points. Meaning that if they go ahead with this new move then most website's that runs ZetaBoards will shut down or move to another forum software.

I'm glad that I never went with ZetaBoards, and since the beginning I never did like Tapatalk. Members are raging and I don't blame them. I say to those owners who runs site's on ZetaBoards is to start thinking about the future and consider to move.

Not going to be fair for those that have had their forums for a long time and would have to sacrifice everything they've had. It's sad news indeed...

I know they did this recently with their other platform and said at the time there was no plans to do it with Zetaboards. It's a bit out of order, they should at least offer database downloads to give people a choice.

Brandon told the staff he was doing this because maintaining ZB by himself is impossible and this was the best course of action to allow ZB to improve and get updates on a regular basis. Forums dying to social media doesn't really come into any of this.

because maintaining ZB by himself
But would he hire more team members
No because it wasn't affordable for him to do so I believe. Hence why he is moving the platform onto TT because it's the only way he can get a development team for the software.
I struggle to believe running adds on every single forum that ZB hosts as well as charging for other features isn't giving him enough money to run the project successfully. To me this smells of an offer too good to pass on money wise, TapaTalk have acquired multiple forum hosts recently (InvisionFree, FreeForums, Zetaboards & Yuku/Ezboard) to try and get their system to dominate the hosted forum market, I imagine quite a lot of cash has gone the way of these owners previously too.

Purple and Gold default must make them the toast of Minnesota! 😎

I don't think they will get that much from adverts, I mean how much it would cost to host.

But still, hire people that will volunteer.

I have a Zeta Boards and i am really peed off about this after working on a good plan to get the board up and running it has come to this, i let em know about it as well on support, but the team members were hit with this out of the blue as well, so at the moment i have an Icy Boards that we are changing our domain over to. It is just trying t get my head around the ACP in the MyBB platform, it is nightmare at the moment

best of luck with the move, Once you get used to the ACP and the layout you will start to get faster at it.

Thx, i have an Admin on there from my Zeta that is helping also which i am grateful for

This is very sad. Even without updates recently I truly believe Zetaboards is the greatest free forum host out there and it's sad to see that come to an end.

I don't have an active Zetaboards forum anymore but for several years I had a very active forum on Zetaboards with over 200,000 posts. I feel for those with active communities who are likely about to lose a lot of work they've put into their forums. Even if they keep all of their posts/threads, they will still lose their themes and any additional features they've built into their forum.

Exactly what I'm thinking. Everywhere else seems a no-go, at least for me 🙁

I’m going to be honest.

I’ve always passionately hated ZetaBoards. I don’t know why.

I just don’t like the platform so this is pretty good news for me. Haha.
