The Hazey "Everything but the kitchen sink!"

The forum is building up a very unique memberbase and the place is becoming a interesting place to discuss all sorts of topics with other like minded adults, so if you are 16 and over check us out today: http://thehazey.co.uk/

Good luck with your forum but this is the third time you've opened a forum under 'The Hazey' domain and what makes it different and wroth while joining because all the past sites you've had you have closed. I don't mean to be rude and what you do is none of my business but you have to agree that I do have a point. I wish you luck with your forum in the future though :great:

Hmm... I'm seeing quite a lot of bots . I wish I was 16 to join...I think you should try and add more content in the forums that are a bit low. Keep up the good work Richard. 😀

First forum closed due to numerous issues there was announcement at the time and have repeated it more times then I care to remember. Also your wrong it is only the second time it's been a forum, the domain however was used for my LEGO/Discworld fansite while it was set up to avoid costs then it was switched to Bricks and Books and is still going as two separate sites now as the demands for both meant splitting the site in two was the best way forward.

A group of friends wanted some place to hang out and that is all it is, it requires little to no admin work hence why it is a adult only discussion place, I ain't forcing anyone to join that is their choice, people also forget before TH I had a forum open for nearly 10 years but I notice people have shot memories.

That is because I make sure it is submitted to search engines etc and why add more content, it will grow in it's own time, right now there is plenty to get people going, if you force a forum to have loads of content in a short space of time it becomes a burden you keep going. On the forum right now the members on there have more then enough to reply to add new topics are getting added all the time, with this TH. I am taking a back seat and letting it grow at it's own pace as both the previous version of TH and also phpBBC I spent hours a day adding content to get it active/popular quick which worked however with phpBBC it became a site I hated due the demands the site required. Plus the activity in a way was false as it was forced activity. I am going back to how I ran my first forum and that lasted for years. Again this forum will have no fake accounts, no fake posts from exchanges or packages and no drama, just folks who want to chat when they feel like it.

I will be just as happy if we still have the same about of members in 6 months, so long as they are all enjoying it. For me forums are not about stats, activity or a popularity contest but a place for me as owner to enjoy discussing topics with like minded people without all the drama.

Sorry for the long winded post, hopefully this helps people see where I stand. 😀

That is the mistake quite a few people make or have made in the past... myself included. If you get too involved with a site, you will stop enjoying it and the main reason alot of people make forums is not to make money or anything like that but to have fun and have a laugh. Working yourself too hard does not make it fun and then you are in a situation where you are getting nothing positive out of the site.

Anyway, It looks a very nice forum and I absolutely love the style. Good luck with it and I will join up at some point

Cheers my old friend we need to catch up, it has been too long and you are 100% right with 2 months I stopped enjoying forums altogether hence the quick sale (another mistake), I learnt this lesson the hard way. This time it's back to my routes and so far it's a refreshing to just be able to login whenever and just post. I for one tip my hat to you for sticking with FP for so long and I'm glad you like the site and hope to see you soon.

I see. I'm glad the way you're going with this. I never actually tried not to do exchanges. Doing that would surely give yourself a whole lot work. It's best to just get real dedicated members who really are interested in your forum. If I ever have a future forum I'd definitely go in the path you're going. 🙂

I'll be keeping your banner in my signature 😀

Exchanges were never an issue but I want TH to be 100% real and thanks for the free link, I appreciate it. I'm not saying no doing exchanges/posting packages is the right thing to do, it's more down to choice and this is coming from someone who won Exchanger of the year back in 2010.

the forum's got a pretty good concept, RJH, i'm joining, you know how old I am. XDD

For a second there I almost forgot! XD!

I'm sure it's a great forum to post on Naiwen. Enjoy yourself. 😛

Nothing much to say as we are ticking along, we have a few new members join this week and the site is growing a nice pace, so if your 16 and over please take a minute to check us out at http://thehazey.co.uk
