Henry the tuatara is to become a dad at the grand old age of 111 - and there is still plenty of life in him yet!

And Lonesome George, the last of the Pinta Island giant tortises, may also be set to become a parent - and possibly give a furture for his species - after one of the females he shares his pen with laid a clutch of eggs!

And the saga of the American Grey Wolf continues as they regain protection under the Endangered Species Act after being removed earlier this year.

But while the wolves are for now off the hook, for elephants the future is looking less certain as China gained permission to import ivory from African Elephants raising fears that this may give a boost to poachers and the black market in ivory.

The UK welcomes back the ladybird spider, a species once thought to be extinct in the country buta tiny population was recently discovered

And a new type of slug that feasts on worms was discovered in a Welsh garden

There was another surprise for the people of Wales when a porebeagle shark came within metres of the shore

While a grey nurse shark with a fishing hook stuck in its mouth was saved by a special team who caught her, removed the hook and returned her back into the ocean where she rejoined her school.

The first footage of the Australian snubfin dolphin was aired to the world - the first time this elusive species that was only discovered in 2005 has been captured on camera.

One car-owner was mystified when his car kept being vandalised - and when he set up a camera trapped he was surprised to see what the real culprit was!

And a video footage was revealed of white-tailed eagle called Evie that likes nothing more than fetching a tennis ball for her owner!

The Loch Garten soap opera is coming to an end...or is it? Satellite trackers have been fitted to the two osprey chicks that have successfully fledged and now their travels can be followed online!

And they aren't the only ones we will be able to keep an eye on...the two white-tailed sea eagle chicks from the nest at Loch Frisa on the Isle of Mull have also been fitted with trackers and they too can be followed online!

We've also added a new section to the board - mysterious beasts - for chat about cryptozoology and cryptic creatures. With evidence emerging of something unknown living India could this be the first proof of bigfoot?

And urgent help is needed for the sharks of the Great Barrier reef following a proposal from the Queensland government to allow shark fishing to supply the fin trade even though sharks have declined in the area by 80%.
