I'm currently in the progress in looking for another third time host to move to. I'm on shared hosting with Hostgator which I am aware that they are owned my EIG. I got the hosting for three years and I been on it for over a year and ends in December of 2017. There live support takes around 20 minutes to speak to an person, and can't guarantee that they will help and as for the support ticket you be waiting for one to two weeks. Waited for three weeks once. I brought SSL with namecheap and it's been like 18 days and still waiting for hostgator to install it for me.

I'm looking towards VPS or dedicated server since shared isn't my thing as it's slow and had been attacked once. I'm no tech guy regarding managing an server and so I be looking at an host that will do the hard work for me.

those are the list of hosting that I have looked at so fair.
http://exhz.co.uk/ They have supported me even though I'm not with them, found them over a year ago
https://www.hawkhost.com/ I had people saying that they had good results and support is good, and the price is good

I'm expected to pay a little more for VPS, however my budget is around $500 to $600 a year plus exchange rate doesn't help, and wanted to say that I'm in the progress of moving to United Kingdom and UK host is what I might go with.

regards

Website Forums runs on PremiereHost. They've always done a good job of keeping us online, and Mike is an awesome guy to host under. He's very supportive and is always helpful with his replies to questions. I'd highly recommend them if you're looking for a new host.

I use DigitalOcean. It's a pretty nice host. 🙂 https://www.digitalocean.com/ Not sure how it compares to others, but I like their interface and features.
It's Cloud, More high risk That could leave it open to cyber-attacks, some suggest. It’s an arguable point,

Can't find VPS, and looks expensive or I might be wrong

Just got a replied from exhz hosting, they said that they will make up a custom VPS and go from there.

-Looking at the disk space, I currently use about 3.5GB. There lowest amount that they provide is 25GB. I think this would be sufficient for now they said.

In regards to Bandwidth they could provide 500GB which again should be more than enough for visitors.

They can or could provide 2 IP addresses.

The VPS server will have 1GB of memory and 4 core processors.

They said that we can manage the server by installing software and keeping the server up-to-date.

The price for the above will be £10.75

In order for the server to be managed there would be an extra charge of £5/month. The cPanel licence would be £12.00.

The total price for this would be £27.75/month.

Total for a year in USD is Around $450 and AUD $650 and total in British £345 or something.

I use HawkHost. Their hosting is quite affordable and I have never had a problem with their support team. All requests I submitted when I started my site a few years ago were always answered very promptly. Perhaps you should consider them.

I would recommend Scala Hosting. The support is very good and the servers are quite fast. They have Cloud VPS servers which you can increase your disk space and bandwidth at anytime as well as RAM and CPU. Their plans are also within your budget.

This is definitely not easy since everyone is recommended different hosting.

You say that they have good prices, what is a good price in todays world then. I'm pleased with extz hosting and now I might go and check out Hawkhost.

alright pick from the list

http://exhz.co.uk/billing/cart.php?gid=5 They are willing to give allot of support and that they hire server from unlimited web hosting UK. They are willing to help and got good information from the email that they can MAke up an VPS to my needs

https://www.scalahosting.com/managed-vps Just read it today and seems to have good price for what you get.

https://www.hawkhost.com/vps-hosting they do suppoty for installing cpanel but not software and emails which I'm okay with! and had good email from them. they said to look into semi-dedicated-hosting

exhz
30gb SSD
Bandwidth, 500GB
4 core processors
1gb Ram
two IPs
cpanel
exhz is offering way more support then Hawkhost regarding installing and since I'm still finding out the details, I think that exhz hire there server from https://www.unlimitedwebhosting.co.uk/ so they don't own there system

HawkHost semi-dedicated
20gb SSD
Unlimited Bandwidth
2 core processors
2gb Ram
two IPs
cpanel
they do own there system and that they been doing allot longer and the the user portal is way better. Keep in mind that it's semi-dedicated so https://www.hawkhost.com/semi-dedicated-hosting

God damn, how can I pick?

HawkHost from Washington is currently down, I hope my files are safe and sound 🙁

Really? Are you on VPS? If so then that has put me off from using them.

I been talking to a member on webhosttalk.com that runs https://mightweb.net/ and they do core management support and the reviews are great and mightweb is another hosting service that I'm looking into

What are your priorities? For me, my priority was good and quick support so I tested Scala Hostings live chat during different times and they were online every time I tested it and support was very good so I decided to go with them. As expected, their ticket support is very good. I also checked their uptime on Web Hosting Stuff and it has 99.9% uptime. While the uptime on Web Hosting Stuff only monitors their website, it is definitely not a good sign if they cannot even provide 99.9% uptime on their website. Also, checked their website speed on Pingdom and it was very good.

I recommend that you do some of these things before picking a host but it depends on your priorities.

It was shared, one of their servers shut down for some reason.

And about Scala, they don't have a good reputation.

You are only allowed to use 2% CPU and those kind of problems.

And their billing support is known well too: http://www.hostsearch.com/review/scala- ... review.asp

Thanks for the input.

Mightweb is around 90% and Exhz around 65% and my community is shocking at 31% which I known anyway. I spent three full days looking into this and I'm not going to change to a week or two or depending upon if it takes longer. Gives me plenty of time.

With hosting listed above and with mightweb what do you think?

Full management support VPs is what I'm looking for and so far that exhz and mightweb is given me that. Hawkhost hasn't really said allot compared to other two. Plus exhz hasn't got SSL on their site and 24/7 support that they say isn't true-ish I get a replied at night when its day there.

I don't flippin know who to pick but I'm still going through it

Mightweb has 90% uptime? That is ridiculously low. I wouldn't consider any host with lower uptime than 99.5% and ideally only looking for hosts with 99.9% uptime.

I wouldn't choose a host with managed support if they don't offer 24/7 support and I personally wouldn't pick Exhz because they don't even have a SSL certificate.

I think Hawk Host is the best out of the three to be fair. While their support doesn't seem to be as good, they seem to be more reliable and it is definitely a more well known host. However if they do not provide fully managed servers, I wouldn't pick them if that is what you need.

you got it all wrong, not talking about up-time. I haven't looked into that yet, I'm talking about the webpage speed test. Speed of there website.

Exhz is definitely looking to be off my list. The theme template is from WordPress which I seen before (probably free) and links in footer aren't working and that's a put off.

Mightweb looking good. Deeper I go the good results and they get servers and system from https://www.singlehop.com/ so google it yourself they have history.

If you like, you can research there up-time.

I'm more consider mightweb now

I have never had an issue with downtime on Hawkhost. The uptime is like 99% and personally, I've never even noticed my website go down. They were also very helpful walking me through migrating from wordpress.com to a self hosted site. They'd be my pick.

It goes down sometimes, but they fix it as fast as they can. It is a hardware problem most of the times, the only server without those kind of events is Amsterdam.

Yeah, but all hosts go down from time to time, but I've never personally noticed the site down. I'm sure if I used a downtime tracker there would be events, but it has never been often or long enough to adversely affect my traffic.
