The large banner you have in the footer of the site, is very low down on the page. It might help you to raise it up a little so that it appears just below your "Post New Thread" button.
The ad after the first post in every thread looks fine to me, just be careful not to put too much in there or your members won't like it.
Overall the ads are fine, except for the banner in the header. You might even consider putting a half banner ad into that slot.
Remember that different things work on different sites. Try one ad set-up for a month and analyse the results, then change something for another month - analyse the results again and see what works best. Adsense's excellent reporting system helps a lot with this.
the ad in the banner would appear better with a higher width resolution. I would implement a feature to cut off the side of the ad if users didn't have a wide enough screen resolution to see it within but unfortunately that would be against Adsense TOS. As it is appearing such a way, I will look into alternatives.
I understand about the footer ad, and that it probably won't get many clicks. We just are being very careful not to put ads around the place too much otherwise things look messy and might interrupt the nice skin we have.
The second post ads are also only for guests so they shouldn't bother any members. 🙂 I will try using the reporting system once we're making more with the ads overall.
Im getting the same results on the 468X60. Its also covering the last X on "xbox" try a smaller ad for that spot, or get someone to edit your header so it fits comfortably.
Also If you dont get many clicks on you Footer ad after the month is over, then i think you could just take that one out, as it wouldnt be worth the Trade off of money/ad overload.
The post ads are perfect, i think they are one every 10 posts? and that looks like a perfect amount. not to many but still enough to make money, and get guests to register.
