eHow, Squidoo and Hubpages are revenue sharing websites which share a percentage of revenue from ads and affiliate marketing with members who write articles on their website.
I read a few bloggers make hundreds or thousands of dollars a year from posting a lot of tutorials on revenue sharing websites. But, they are most likely very savvy when it comes to article marketing, keyword research, and producing great articles which generate a lot of traffic.
I posted an article with mostly generic information which is not very unique, and made about two dollars in the first few months, and barely update my stuff much.
I also notice eHow, Hubpages, and Squidoo tutorials and articles rank pretty high in Google compared to other websites and blogs, so they can be good places to get backlinks from to refer people to your blog or forum.
I sometimes use them for looking up tutorials, getting traffic, and socializing with the member base.
