Yeah slang kills a site. If you don't spell correctly, it like repels guests and others who browse your forum. Also it is better to have a lot of posts made and done to have the look of an active site.

Never talk in "1337" or slang. It can be the downfall of what could be a great forum. I've seen people get thrashed for talking like that. And those are just normal members. If you as an administrator use that sort of speech, then noone's going to even respect you in the slightest. Not as an administrator, and not as a fellow forumer. It also makes everyone think you're like 6 years old, which is not a very good thing either, but probly the least of your worries if you end up doing that.

I agree completely. Theres nothing worse than people using bad spelling and bad grammer.
When I set up my forum we had quite a few posts up and running before the forum went 'live' so at least there was stuff there for people to browse.
