Could you specify which of the two sentences you referred to? Havign fairly detailed rules is quite possible and I'm not talking about the law of every coutnry in existence of course.

The second sentence. And I wasn't talking about every country, I was referring to international copyright law. Posting lyrics from a song are illegal. Posting images (including avatars) that aren't yours is illegal (unless the owner has given you expressed written consent).
To give you an example, your "Site Manager"'s avatar is illegal.


And to say the least, my site is far from legal if you take into account every image I have on the server. I have no illegal audio or video on my site though.

I do not accept posts with viruses downloads, things that will crash others computers and porn/child porn.

You have a point there, perhaps I mis-worded my post a bit then. In any case, I think you gather my meaning though.

On my graphics forum, I most likely wouldn't allow topics that redirect to another graphics forum. Also, just the general topics that are "illegal" and "annoying" like repetitive topics (like "da bump" game in the contests section of FP).

- Illegal content (links to Warez, ROMs, etc)
- Sexual content (nude pics, etc)
- Other explicit content (apart from the occasional swear)
- Topics for people's addresses, credit card info, passwords, full names and other personal information (ASL, gender, pic threads are okay, seeing as people will only post there if they want to.)
- Flame threads (for obvious reasons)

I don't mind debates and heated discussions over illegal content, sex or other mature stuff, but I don't want topics that actually promote it, considering my forum is deemed appropriate for people under the age of 18.
