Tour du France 2012 (99th edition)

Fair play to Bradley Wiggins, his success should be a great boost to British cycling. Delighted to see that an Irish cyclist, Nicolas Roche is currently in 12th place. It's been some time since we've had a cyclist do reasonably well in the event.

Winner! 1. WIGGINS B. SKY 87h 34' 47''
2. FROOME C. SKY 03' 21''
3. NIBALI V. LIQ 06' 19''
4. VAN DEN BROECK J. LTB 10' 15''
5. VAN GARDEREN T. BMC 11' 04''
6. ZUBELDIA H. RNT 15' 41''
7. EVANS C. BMC 15' 49''

The results might suggest that the race was a little less competitive this year. There was over three minutes between first and second place (there is often less than a minute between first and second) and they were both from the same team.

I wanted to watch some of the Tour this year but unfortunately I didn't manage to catch any of it. 🙁

Well quite honestly, since all this doping scandal came out, I haven't watched any pro cycling... :-(
