Follow these steps to get a higher position in google rankings.

Step 1: Decide your keywords
Example: My website freeinspirations.com My keywords were: free inspirations, free website ideas, etc..

Step 2: Meta Tags
Add meta tags to your website, the description and the keywords. The code for those metal tags are:
<meta name="description" content="Free website ideas for entrepreneurs." />
<meta name="keywords" content="free inspirations, free website ideas, find free website ideas" />

There are more metal tags but these are most important ones.

3. Title
Your title is the most important factor in getting higher ranking in google.

Tips: Don't be creative, become the searcher and think what would you type in if you would be looking for a site like yours on google?

My first title was: FreeInspirations.com - Find Website/App/Game Ideas
I thought I would put name of the website plus .com like all popular website do, but it was a mistake. when people searched "free inspirations" they didn't find my website at the top.

I got a tip from a marketing pro who works for a big company he told me to do it differently. So I came up with: Free Inspirations - Find Free Website Ideas

Now when you search "free inspirations" my site is #1 on google.

Now remember you must differentiate your site title from all other same genre site titles.

4. Description
Description can be deceiving, you would think meta tags would fill in the description for you but it doesn't, instead google looks for either the [h1][/h1] tags or the first sentence/paragraph on your website/forum.

So at the very top you must put the first text as description in [h1] tags. In my case I put [h1]"Find free website, app, and game ideas for entroupenuers"[/h1]

5. Constantly add new content to your website/forum front page. If you have a forum always make the front page either a blog or like a feature that shows last active topics and etc.

With these 5 steps you should succeed in getting your website into the top ranking in google search.

Above all this is the step you should aim most at. As your site wont rank, if theres not content.

used to be #1 when I kept the description, now the discription is my announcement forum so its all messed up when I had a blog it was #1. Bad choice going into forums <_< lol

P.S. checked on other computer its #2 😕

Google remembers your preferences so it gives you search results by persons preferences.

Where it is placed on Google is dependent browser to browser. Google has a small caching tool where it sees what you tend to search. The more you search that, the higher the site will appear just on your browser.

even if there is the best content but it wont rank at the top because it doesnt have the correct keywords, or description for people to find it.

Actually, my own site goes down the more I seem to search for it {I check it to see how it's doing in google...Not good.}

Some basic tips there. Nice quick guide. I doubt it'll actually get you to number 1 in a competitive keyword as there are too many factors but this is a nice guide. 😛
