I have watched so many music videos out there, and when I tried to upload a music video on my Test account. It got over 2,000,000 views on it within 3 months, but now it was taken down cause of copyright? I don't get it. I stated the copyright info in the description, and what I really don't get is some of my other friends on YouTube upload just music videos on YouTube. They been doing it for almost 2 years now. I asked them the other day how do they do it? Do they ask permission?
Nope they don't even ask permission. I checked their descriptions and they were the same thing as mine. Some of them even upload the same music video as I did and it still has not gotten taken down. Why is this, and how can I upload music videos with out them taking it down?
If reported it will most likely get taken down, it mainly depends on whether or not YouTube has the permission from the such authors to post the music videos. Channels/Profiles/Playlists from Artists, such as ones from VEVO may freely post their work as they own the copyrights to them. Just be careful when uploading music videos which you don't have permission to do so.
The whole permission thing was never an issue to begin with until sometime ago when Youtube had a fire light up under their butts. Then well, its when they got all difficult about the music videos and the like.
Actually they had a huge law suit on their hands and from then on in, they haven't taken any risks, deleting videos which even had copyrighted soundtracks within them, even if it was a un-related video.
Ah. Well Youtube is supposed to be a place where people can freely view videos and the like right? Only reason they got that law suit is cause the suits that were behind it got grumpy about it cause they weren't making any money from it.
No they got into a lawsuit because users of the site were posting copyrighted material on the site, it's illegal to do so without prior permission from the copyright holder.
Well how were they supposed to get a hold of them to begin with? Plus, they may have the copyright. But I see it like this. Once they have it out there, people are gonna use it for either something online or offline. Its like comic companies. They sell comics to make money. Yet its all copyrighted content yes?
But it doesn't stop the holder of those comics from selling them off and making money off them. Money the companies won't even see a dime of cause that person sold them for their own gain.
Because the companies who sell the comics (legally sold copies anyway) have permission from the original authors (mostly just paid off the authors for permission) 😉
