I used to use Yahoo Answers to promote my websites. I answer the asker question, and put a link to my article or website related to the askers questions. I notice I get some traffic from Yahoo Answers when I am picked as the best answer by the asker or members who voted.

It works even better if the question becomes an archived question.

I notice that a lot of Yahoo Answers' answered question on Google Search results are from a few years a go like 2008. They usually are in the top 3 of search results in many cases when you search for questions like "How to remove a Trojan virus after downloading pictures 😉 from a website.

It works to a degree, if you are best answer it really helps.

And if you don't get it deleted for spam/link dropping.

I have put links in pretty much every single answer I have posted. I have a total of 307 answers with a 58% best answer rating.

I have yet to see an answer I have posted be deleted because I posted a link.

I'll have to try this some time!

I never even thought of using this to promote my website. I do not use Yahoo answers that much but I have never been tempted to click on the source data myself. I shall try it out when I start up my website.
Thank you for the idea.
