One thing I pity the most is something that no one really thinks about now-a-days. If you find a valuable item like a coin that's worth a million bucks or some kind of fossil on your property/territory, then you better hide it and not tell anyone whatsoever about what you have or you would have it taken away and possibly go to prison. This is a wrong way to have things going on. I believe that if you find something valuable on your property, you should have the right to keep it or turn it in to a museum or something- not to just have it taken away. I don't remember what the word for this kind of act is, but all I can say is that it isn't right. What do you guys think?

I know the government can take your property under eminent domain. I think it stinks. I think if you find something on your property, unless it is a dead body or something that was stolen (which in those cases most people would want the body or item returned to it's rightful owner/family) I think you should be able to keep it. What's that saying? Possession is 9/10ths of the law.

I think that we should be able to keep whats on our property. I mean, we pay hundreds of thousands of dollars for it, and we should get everything on it.

The government makes money off of our property "buyings".

You guys are definitely right. All the government does is live off of our makings.

Exactly correct; I agree with you 100%. Since it's our property, we deserve every bit of it unless there is someting not basically owned by you that is buried in your property or if there is a body (just like what Chellemo stated above.)

It just sickens me that the government can live off of everything that the citizens put effort to.

I'm not quite understanding here.

If there is good reason, the government will have to confiscate some things. Example, if you own child pornography, sure it's worth a lot of money, and it's your possession, but does that mean the government has no right to take it?

If the government steals from you, file a complaint.

I think myself that if you find something valuable, say a medieval sword, on your property, then it isn't yours.

Why? Because you didn't make it or buy it, you simply found it. A bit like lost property, except if the person who lost it is dead. If you find something of historic importance, then the decent thing to do is give it to a museum, where everyone can see it.

Besides, you don't own the land. You simply have the rights to use it. The land belongs to the state, which in turn is owned by the people. That is the reason we have planning laws and the like.

Our governments want to hide the past from us. They don't want independant investigation. So they take these things, and control people's access to it so we'll only know their version and not a completely objective version.

Sorry to tell ya guys. You're in a veritable Matrix of unreality.
It's Orwell's 1984, but worse.

Serfdom I think they call it.
