Have you ever noticed on some Vbulletin ran forums that when you type in a url, sometimes it automatically redirects you to a certain portion of the site... like latest news or whatever? I was on a general chat forum once, and we were talking about celebrities, and there was one singer I brought up and I heard, "I've never heard of him before!" So I posted the link to his site and the url didn't go into the name I put it. It had the url, but it redirected it to another announcement on that site for some reason. Not even sure what version of VB that was either. Don't you find it something when it does this?

I've never seen that Ashley and I'm not sure how it could happen. Perhaps the forum Admin censored the domain name in question. E.g. I've censored some commonly used spam words on my business forum, so that something like "CCV" will change to "***". Perhaps the Admin in question censored the name of the singer's site and has it changed to the URL you were redirected to.

I had noticed this. I remember on one forum I went on it redirected me to a poll in the annoucements section. this was almost a year ago, but it sounds similar.

Like I said, I can't remember what version of VB they were using if they were using the latest version or older, but that would make sense if they installed a plugin or mod like that.

Again, I'm sure there is probably a mod you can install when you put a url to a certain site, it'll redirect you to a certain part of that site. Like if Forum Promotion were on VB, and we had that plugin installed, I could type: http://www.forumpromotion.net and it could like redirect me anywhere it wanted to. Like blogs, services etc.
