Many forums implement a virtual currency system where members earn credits through posting and participating, which can then be exchanged for various services, items, or member exchanges. However, there are times when these currencies lose their true value, and a reset becomes necessary to restore balance.
As a member, would you support a currency reset if you knew it was for the greater good of the community?
How would you feel about losing your accumulated credits, even if it's for the overall benefit?
If you were given a notice before the reset, what would be a fair amount to you?
As an admin, how difficult would it be for you to make this decision, knowing it's the only way to maintain a healthy system?

This is a very complex issue and comes with some serious challenges. But sometimes it's inevitable to do the right thing.
If a reset is absolutely necessary, you need to give members a chance to get used to the idea...6 months at least!
If I worked hard for some currency and it meant I could get something in return for it, I'd be rather upset if it disappeared. But if the value was truly nil, then it wouldn't matter.
Maybe a virtual reset, but everyone gets started with the same amount.
Or...
Disable the feature for a while, like a year. Then, set it up in private to reflect your new changes and ideas and reintroduce it, starting everyone out at 0 credits.
If you disable it for a year, though, you might decide that it really isn't needed after all.
On most forums, virtual currency does not have any value, so I do not find resetting of virtual currency. However, on forums where virtual currency has value (for service purchase or cash withdrawal), I will not support virtual currency to be reset because I have worked really hard to accumulate those credits.
