Want to sell your used things? Too bad

I'm off to report myself. My downloading habits alone could probably support the industry for a long time. Looking at current fines they give for each song, I have caused over 9 billion dollars in damages with music alone! Well, 9 more and I'll be as big of a villain as Madoff xD
-Gimgak calls the place where you report copyright violators-
"Hello, I just wanted to let you know that I've been downloading-"
-Gimgak is suddenly surrounded by eighty-five police officers and fifty-four FBI agents-
-a murder occurs outside and none of them move-
Don't forget the tasers.

Tasers are a bit soft. Wouldn't that "hard on crime" platform want the officers to all be equipped with automatic rifles?

Better?

What really peeves me off about this type of thing is that they punish the people who have obtained it legally.

I kinda like how Starcraft 2 avoided piracy by forcing people to be online, but at the same time, that discriminates against people without an Internet connection.

I mean, I'm all for giving the companies the money they deserve for their efforts, but they're going about it the wrong way. They need to crack down on pirates, not crack down on those using their product...

DRM simply doesn't work, it only hurts the consumer and not the person pirating the material. In the case of UBI DRM you get a lot better experience by using the pirated version since you don't rely on their servers to play a single player game. Paying for a product like that only shows them and other companies that people will buy something no matter what.

This could mean the end of Game Stop
good
I agree

I do believe selling things will still go on. Many people are ill informed, and is a big company really going to go out to court against some kid at a garage sale?

GameStop will not end for this, To be honest they are more known for giving features that can only be obtained by Pre-ordering, Plus GameStop is the leading pub for gamers. Not only at E3 and tons more events. GameStop will never end as long as video games sell.

doesn't sound reasonable, but you need to remember that a big company will go after a student sharing a few songs and try to fine him a couple mil.

Couldn't the same be said about selling a Used Books since if you sell your book, the book company is not going to make a profit and you recover some of your loses from selling your book to a friend?

I hope this does not happen to real objects like books, comics, manga, and print.

I'm not liking how a small percentage of society with power views(big buisness, companies) see selling used music, games, and software.
