What’s a piece of old tech you weirdly miss?

MP3 players. They still exist, but I miss their heyday.
I use a MP3 player at work, we're not allowed to have our phones in the office but we're allowed to listen to music while we work. I have a couple of them, I got them from Amazon. I do miss the heyday of MP3 players though...

Tag based systems. Ai & Algorithms have made tags nearly obsolete. Now it's all about how they can milk engagement as much as possible, profit off of the best viewing content, and the rest they can throw into the void. I miss when tags ruled the web and all related content was formed through like max 10 tags. I don't have any physical tech since everything I wish was brought back I have bought and own to bring it back lol. I am the change I want to see XD

I also really miss MP3 players. I went through a bunch of iPods over the years, from the Nano to the Touch, and they were just perfect for what they did. When I worked in EMS, it was great being able to leave one plugged in all day without worrying about draining my phone or dealing with needing my phone for work and it being setup to play music.

I know dedicated players still exist, but paying $400–$500 for a DAP running an already outdated version of Android just doesn’t feel worth it. I’m still very much a wired‑audio person, and having my phone sealed up in an OtterBox while the MP3 player handled all the plugging‑in was honestly the ideal setup. It kept things simple, durable, and reliable.

Sometimes the old solutions really were the better ones.

I wouldn't call this an old technology but rather the diversity mobile phones had compared to the modern smartphones. Every model today is more or less the same. Check this babies out:

Nokia phones could survive falling off a bridge, landing on every boulder below, and be practically scratch free XD Phones now you drop at knee height and they're done for :'(

An old Nokia phone, they were epic for their time, they were built to last 🙂 I had a very old-style Nokia phone myself, and damn, it was hard to text back then

gameboy advance I had lot of games I still have em i don't if I should sell them
Never! You'll get the itch to play them eventually and you'll be glad you did 😀 and if push comes to shove they'll only increase in price 😀

I miss a lot. Blackberry, Razr phone, sidekick, Nintendo DS, and that's all I can remember right now. Take me back to the good ol' days when things were simple. 😩
