What Anti-Virus do you use?

That's why you disable your anti-virus while running another program.

other software can interfere with its scans though
As long as the two are not scanning at the same time no confliction will happen. Nothing the person listed should conflict.

However with that said I would suggest removing one of the anti spyware programs since they both do the same thing. I would suggest keeping spybot since,if I remember correctly it has real time protection.

if the AV is turned on whilst scanning with malwarebytes or something similar, they can interfere with eachother. 😛

Currently im using AVG Free edition.

I Use to run Norton until need renewing and AVG does me for now. I quite like it to be honest.

That is false,I have avast always on and scan with malware bytes ,nothing bad has happened. I do it all the time at school and at work.( I am a Comptia A+ computer technician. and a student training for my network+ and security + certs)

As long as you do not have two real time protection anti virus or anti spyware running at the same time or scanning at the same time no confliction will happen.

How do you use Prevx? I dled something that said csi and immediately it ran without confirmation with a learning scan and all kinds of stuff so I uninstalled it.

Download it from here: http://info.prevx.com/downloadcsi.asp - free.

Install it, it will do a first scan of your PC and will finish installing. Then your good to go.

That's where I did download it from. It doesn't seem very worth it though..

I've been using it for a while, it has found a fair amount of infections for me.

I reinstalled it, it just has one of those interfaces that look like a virus, you know?
