What attract's you to a forum?

Well what attract's you to sa forum?
Is it the forums theme, the board overall, the services they provide to us etc etc?

A combination of activity, content and obviously the subject 🙂

In order of importance: the subject, the activity levels and the appearance.

In no particular order, because to me, they are are equally important:

The skin. It is the first thing I see. I need to not be blinded by it, or praying it was so horrid, it burnt out my retina, so I never have to look at it again.

The layout. The board's sections need to flow properly. I need to be able to navigate easily.

Activity. I don't want to join an empty forum. There needs to be daily activity.

Content. There needs to be quality on the forum to hold my attention. I came there for a reason-I'm hungry for answers to a question. Feed me.

I usually look at a forum's activity. Joining an empty forum seems real lonely where you only get around 1 post every 30mins or more. Then I look at the theme to see if it feels comfortable or not. After that if navigating the forum is not complicated, then I'm convinced to stay

I'm attracted more by the activity, the subject, and how well the community gets along together. If there are loads of flame wars started, and none of the admins are doing anything to step in and stop it, and are just letting the arguments continue without rhyme or reason, then don't count on me being active. I'm not picky about what the skin looks like or even if there's a banner. A Friendly community and content are what I look for. However, on the skin, it can't be too light; but it can't be seriously dark either. I like when it's an in-between kind of thing.

I dont really know. I just have to get 'that vibe' from it... Cant really explain it.

I would have to say the looks, feel, and the topics and discussions that is apart of and in it.

Assuming that I'm interested in the forum topic, the most important factor for me is the activity on the forum. If the forum is busy, I always feel that I'm more likely to get helpful answers to my questions and to have more people to discuss issues with.

I am looking for activity, although i will do my best to help out a new forum, like mine. Activity is important, then a good theme or skin is important, I like choose also. And the community must be very close, not just a bunch of angry people. And the topic is also super important as well.

I'd say firstly if its on a promotion forum, the user reputation would be a key thing, and then if they displayed a good looking graphic, eg. signature, then I would visit.
