It's still MyBB. I would recommend xenForo, but he has to make the decision.

It is hard to invest a lot of money on forums these days. Payback is not immediate or certain.

Good that you choose MyBB, atleast if you want to upgrade to a paid forum software you can do it easily.

phpBB is the best forum software in my opinion. It looks the nicest to me and is super easy to use.
