So I purchased something from a guy on DigitalPoint, sent the money, and he never answered. 48 hours later I disputed on Paypal to get my money back. Still no response from the guy. He files a report with the tracking info and says I should be able to access my item and download it...BUT he never gave me login info or ANYTHING.

So I am waiting for Paypal to review..what if he gets to keep the money? Am I just out $90 or is there any thing I can do to get it back?

Out $90, unless you payed with a credit card. If that's the case, you can just do a charge back and you win 100% of the time, even if the service is delivered to you.

Sorry to say your out of your 90 because paypal does not fight online stuff such as downloadable content.

I did try to email him just a few minutes ago, hopefully he responds with login details. Yeah Paypal has a dumb system.

I actually have to disagree with that. Paypal has a great dispute resolution system, IMHO.

No, there is no way to confirm if you received the product or not, that's why digital goods aren't covered. Like I said next time you could have used a credit card and if you didn't get it called your company up and make a charge back, just a lesson for the future.

Hopefully though the guy just messed up and didn't want to scam you.

Yeah true. I mean..they also can't prove anything by a tracking number. Anyone can make that up for non-tangible items.

Exactly, which is why paypal doesn't take a stance on it. Sucks but at least for tangible items the buyer has a clear advantage.

If you paid with a credit or debit card via Paypal you might be able to dispute the claim with your credit or debit card company to get your money back.

Like I said not might, you can always do a certain amount of charge backs per year with no questions asked. Yes, your credit card company will turn a blind eye to friendly fraud if it means keeping you as their client.

This is one reason why I do not use Digital Point unless I am selling something myself. It is not worth losing that much money for something.

Well anyone can do it anywhere..it's just DP has a larger community so you don't know many people.
