In your opinion, what is the best smartphone in 2016? What are the key features of this phone that makes it the best smartphone?

We I think that we all know what the best is for this year that allot of people got. It's Galaxy Note 7 Smartphone

Hard for me to be objective here as all my apples are in one basket. The iPhone 7 is presently the best smartphone for me because it does everything I expect it to in a device catering to my needs, not to mention their stance on privacy, and it gives me little to no problems. A tool that just works for me out of the box—instead of me working for the tool by regularly tweaking the device to make it work the way I want it to—is my definition of the 'best' smartphone. I simply have no time to be customising my device nor to be dealing with errors rooting from the said changes. I only need a tool to help me get things done.

The moment the iPhone stops providing me that pure convenience and becomes a chore to maintain is the day my attention turns elsewhere. But today is not that day. The iPhone 7 continues to be a great phone for my everyday usage. It's not a huge leap this year in terms of additions, but I do adore the small changes especially with the taptic engine. Most importantly, the design is better this year. The previous design bothered me significantly. :arghh:

Just goes to show how the little changes can sometimes still make the biggest impact.

I have some new earpods that have a lightning connector on the end & they sound pretty good, better than my last pair (which were the standard 3.5 mm jack ones).

There many features applied on smartphone and I don't know what key features I want now. I think I'll choose base on its appearance and Samsung's models are nice.

I'm currently owning a Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016) and I'm happy with it (except for the camera). My previous phone was the iPhone 5S.

I've made a deal with myself that I will not buy those insanely expensive phones anymore like the iPhone 7 or the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 or whatever. It's a challenge, lmao as I'm all for the newest and best things in technology.

So to say which is the best, I don't know but I think you can tie Samsung & iPhone with their flagships on top.

I was going to say Galaxy Note 7 before they started turing themselves into BBQs!

Why not treat yourself? Its something that you are going to use daily for a couple years. Might as well get a good quality one.

or spend $120 smartphone like I have that does the same as an $900 smartphones does

This. Because the one I have is still fast enough and does all that an expensive smart phone does. Nebulous, how old are you?

I use an ASUS Zenfone 2. It's not the best, or the newest phone, mine has a few hardware problems (including a partially broken headphone jack, and the fact it auto-switches to T-Mobile 3G in areas covered by 4G), but I like it so far.

Old enough to provide myself with nice things if I want them. 😉
Obviously. Not wanting to sound like an ass but when I was living at home, and having a job. I used to buy EVERYTHING I wanted because I had nothing else to spend my money on. I don't blame anyone for doing the same lol but now that I live together with my bf, it only makes sense not to buy $ 800 phones anymore. Instead you buy a freezer/fridge, huzzah. Or bills, that too maybe. So that's why I changed my opinion on buying such expensive phones.

But I get it tho.

I get all that but this is a thread about the BEST phone of 2016, why talk up cheap phones like they are superior and/or at least do the same thing?

I've had cheap androids before and they always crash. Half the good games with decent graphics "aren't compatible" or they work until you get half way through the game and then they crash. Also there's several limitations to consider (like storage capacity, camera quality, etc.) Which renders them off the list of the best phones of the year and are not worth mentioning. 😛
