What lead you to create your Forum?

When I'm not on the computer I like reading all the fiction books set in the age of sail such as Hornblower. Been a member of several forums and decided to find one that covered this subject. None seemed to specialise just a tag in Amazon that wasn't active. Based on the number of reprints they do for this type of book there must be other fans out there so decided to start my own forum and see. Only just started so too early to say whether it was a good idea

Well, let me see....my forum was started by someone else back in late 2005/06, they needed staff, so I applied, and to make a long story short, I took over the forum, the domain and everything else to do with it about a year later.

The forum had been dormant for about a year, I just relaunched in this month and trying to get some of the older members active again, and still bring in new members.

The forum this time around, is heading more in the direction of a social networking base, currently averaging around 100 posts per day.

I had an advertising service idea, and I didn't want to go start a new forum so I just paired with my co admin

I thought, hey, what would happen if a bunch of people had fun!

And everyone is having fun!

Im making a new forum soon, so stay tuned! Its going to be a forum about anything! All my users will stay! Im exporting my database basically.

Well I have a passion for graphics and couldn't help myself but to create a forum.

I created my forum so I could give other moms/ladies a place to chat and not feel uncomfortable by all the cliques that most mom related forums have today. A place to be yourself, be real, share there lives with other moms/ladies, play some games, share pics, etc.

I'm going for the ultimate *bump* here. Just because I'd still love to hear more stories from our members who may have never seen this topic, and why they created their forum.

Don't just say, "i wanted to be the admin" or "i was bored". This is where you get to let others know what you're forum really means to you, and what they can expect when joining.

I started the Redheaded Goddess Forums back in 05 because I saw at the time there weren't any forums like it. I've always liked redheads. I was a big fan of Lauren Ambrose who was on the HBO series Six Feet Under at the time. I was also really into Alyson Hannigan. I had originally planned to make a fan forum for one of those two redheaded actresses but I figured it would be better to expand it and include all redheaded actresses and celebrities. I never expected that there were so many. The redheaded models section of my forum probably has the photos of hundreds of models. I've had several general discussion forums that went nowhere. I guess cause my heart wasn't really into those forums. The redheads forum is something I have a passion for so I have the motivation to keep posting and finding ways to promote the forum.

I spent a lot of years alone and confused with my spirituality, no one to ask, no one to tell me I wasn't going mad.... there wasn't anywhere as near as much info/books etc back then. I eventually found my way and developed my abilities and am now progressing further, I decided the time was right to share the knowledge I have, and offer support and encouragement to others on similar journeys and give them a place to share their feelings and experiences, and a platform to try out their own abilities in a conducive enviroment without fear of misunderstanding or ridicule, in effect i'm 'giving a little back.' If I only help one soul out there, the hundreds and hundreds of hours i've put into the forum is more than worth it.....sorry to ramble but it means a lot to me *blush*

Edit....we do have fun there too ~cheesey_grin~

well mine started a strange way i guess. i was playing call of duty (which im pretty good at lol) and after a good game i got a message from dom_mc_cfc1 (a member here) asking me to join his clan. i decided that would be pretty cool so i joined. then he told me about the clans website. i was thinking sweet! they have their own website even 😛 . well it was a phpBB2 forum and it had around 100 members after 2 months. and on top of that it was very active. well one day dom asked me to help with rearranging the forum to look better so i decided to help and i was promoted to admin right away. well then i decided we should get a proper name (the site had no name. it was just the website for [#1] clan). i came up with the name gaming news now. well after w had a name we decided to get a proper domain as well. so we moved to forumotion and i bought a domain for them to use. well after that we grew and decided we needed a proper host. so i went out and bought hosting and now we are where we are. dom is still there as well as many of the original clan members. and now i'm considered the owner and dom is the founder lol so its changed a lot and we still recruit people we see that are good at video games. and thats GNN for you

That story made me feel happy inside -happy-

Well my story is kinda silly, but it might answer a few of my friends questions 😛.

I first joined my site when it was owned by pierce and my friend and fellow clan member nbk*trigga,

Pierce soon left and gave trigga the domain and such.

A little bit later the site died due to lets say unsolved reasons lol...

So Me and a few of the members who were good friends went on another forum got mod positions and had a great time.

That site died and Me and My fellow admin friend said hey lets remake the site.

So we did and now we are doing better then ever 😀.

Ofcourse the first month or so we were worried <.<.

I made up a fake country called Nukia, or the Nukian Empire.

I WAS THE EMPEROR.

I made a forum for it, thus, we get s1.zetaboards.com/NUKIA.

It was the first nation there. Then, I made the IGE (Inter-Galactic Empire) for the soon to be admin, Mojave, and Pokemonia, or PokemonLand (Japan) for bordom.

Mojave, after awhile as admin and two accidental deletions, deleted his own account, forever resigning from emperor of the IGE.

That night, UW became more than a joke forum for my little phase, it became a place for nations there to have diplomatic relations...and a fight erupted between to nations on chat.

It was no longer for Nukia to wage peace, but for several nations to wage war.

My original goal in Nukia...was to RP world conquest 🙂
