What's the best thing about a Fish Fry?

Being that I live in England, we call this fish and chips rather than fish fry, it is pretty much the same thing though and is served with chips (french fries) and can also have mushy peas on the side as well.

Haven't had fish and chips since April but planning to have it again soon.

A Fish Fry in the midwest in the US is an event...of course there is fried fish. I guess maybe it's only a midwestern thing? I'm not really sure?

Any white fleshed, flaky fish is best. Cod, tilapia, hake, are readily found at the grocery store and usually portioned for individual servings. Perch is very tasty but less common. Oilier and meatier fish like salmon, trout, swordfish, and tuna generally are not the best for frying.
