He said cartoon superheroes.

I don't know why there are only 2 black cartoon superheroes. But why doesn't it matter if they are black, white, brown, purple, etc? They are still superheroes.

yeah. true. there are lots of super heroes of all kinds. so it doesnt matter. i never really pay attention to it

Probably because you need to look at the time when the "cartoon" boom happened, when Spiderman, batman, ect. were created. That was before / around the time that all the civil protests were taking place (if my history is correct). It would have been frowned upon to idolized a "black" person at that time.

As you said with Hancock, our society has changed from those original thoughts and now Hollywood can reflect both.

exactly. times are different. it was a bad time in our history but we've moved on and racial tension between african-americans and whites decrease daily

Agreed, gqgk. We even have a (half) African-American president now. That wouldn't have happened at the time those comics were first released.

Hmm. I never noticed the lack of Black superheros. The only one that comes to mind is Cyborg from Teen Titans. That show died long ago though <_<

You've got The Prowler, John Lantern of the Green Lanterns, you've got Storm, You've got King Ch-tala or otherwise known as The Black Panther, You've got the time traveling Bishop, You've got Cyborg from Teen Titans comics and cartoon, as well I think her name was Bumblebee from the Titans comic and cartoon.

nope. thats why i don care what color you make a hero. if you make him white, people get offended, if you make him black, people get offended, if you make him asian people get offended. it seems like we worry to much on trying to make everyone happy in our society. maybe we should just make a blue hero lol

Why does it matter what race anyone is. I wouldn't mind if all the superheros were one race or the other race, why would it even matter.
