I don't know why there are only 2 black cartoon superheroes. But why doesn't it matter if they are black, white, brown, purple, etc? They are still superheroes.
Probably because you need to look at the time when the "cartoon" boom happened, when Spiderman, batman, ect. were created. That was before / around the time that all the civil protests were taking place (if my history is correct). It would have been frowned upon to idolized a "black" person at that time.
As you said with Hancock, our society has changed from those original thoughts and now Hollywood can reflect both.
exactly. times are different. it was a bad time in our history but we've moved on and racial tension between african-americans and whites decrease daily
You've got The Prowler, John Lantern of the Green Lanterns, you've got Storm, You've got King Ch-tala or otherwise known as The Black Panther, You've got the time traveling Bishop, You've got Cyborg from Teen Titans comics and cartoon, as well I think her name was Bumblebee from the Titans comic and cartoon.
nope. thats why i don care what color you make a hero. if you make him white, people get offended, if you make him black, people get offended, if you make him asian people get offended. it seems like we worry to much on trying to make everyone happy in our society. maybe we should just make a blue hero lol
