hmmm I don't know where I stand. but just for the sake of argument i'm going to argue both points lol smoking affects a family as well. second hand smoke is one of the leading causes of asthma in children. it also leads to developmental problems. alcohol also affects families on a different level. IN EXCESS it can lead to violence and poor decision making. now alcohol in moderation is nowhere near as bad as smoking. in fact, a glass of alcohol a day has been proven to prevent heart disease. smoking on the other hand is bad no matter how much you do it. one cig is estimated to take 11 minutes off your life. marijuana also has its drawbacks. it causes more cancer than cigs even (yes marijuana does kill, just we don't look at cancer). it also has worse addiction levels and people trying to quite who become addicted have issues. i recently went into the drug ward at a hospital and those who were trying to quit mary jane were much more aggressive than those quitting other drugs. i asked if this was normal and the response was yes.
so in conclusion mary jane and cigs both lead to problems and there is no moderation, however alcohol is worse, but it can be used in moderation and is healthy when done so. so in my argument i answered the question for myself lol
