Why does the US think it's tough?

@Kirisute Gomen: Also they do amputations without anesthesia.

@Dy.namik Nais democratic talking point.

@John1: Most other countries do not have freedoms as fundamental rights, say, freedom of speech. Google "Michael Savage Banned in Britain."

Or fusk over the USA even more than we already are.

Don't you have to pay for health care in the US?

Yep. In the U.S., you'd get shot if you said, "Free health care for all at the point of need." In Europe, no politician who believes in the U.S. system would be electable. xD

This is why we think were so tough. Show me another country with a peninsula bigger than that? The ladies love big peninsulas.

I'm not saying I hate the country. I'm just tired of the US looking down on everyone else and it's sad how we think we're the best. We're good, but not the best.

The United States military is the best.

Saying that Russia and China has anything on the USA is just laughable really.

If any country tried to attack or invade the USA, they will get put in the dirt for a long time... Nazi Germany and Japan thought they were big and bad too, now look at them.

Shoot, if any country tried to invade the USA, the wouldn't even reach it, their military would get destroyed way before they get close. The USA owns the water and the air of the world.

-- 25 Aug 2010, 22:46 --

Yeah, Germany and Japan sure are shitty 3rd world countries with terrible economies, uh-huh. Never should have fought the Us 😛

Why is everyone talking like international politics is some game of chess? It's not. You can't hypothetically put nations against each other like you can with sports teams.

True, any country that tried probably would get put into the ground. Don't think your tough though, I would mention 1 factor but I won't and it's not about any country.

The Chinese military is much larger than the United State's. That said, the US has much more technology and better technology.

It doesnt matter who has the largest military, it matters who's going to get trigger happy first with the big red button in the big black suitcase...aka: The Football.

It was only Japan who made the attack on USA, during the Pearl Harbour attacks. Also, how was Germany a 3rd World country? Having had a major part in WW1, it still remained to be a dominating country in Europe. And, USA has a worser economy projection than Germany or Japan now.

Like Cosmic said, it's all hypothetically exaggerated. Why would a country attack USA? Many countries have economic, defense and political ties with USA so it would be improbable to impossible for a country to attack USA, and even then, there would be little USA could do, as shown during 9/11, where clearly USA was not ready for a terrorist attack (disregard any conspiracy thoughts etc.).

Who said anything about their economies? I was more talking about how they thought they were big and bad with their military, now both countries aren't spit compared to the USA.

The Chinese have more soldiers, but that doesn't mean spit, 5 U.S. submarines can take out ALL of China's large cities and then some at the same time, with our missiles/rockets with nuclear warheads on them. The U.S. has more and better submarines then all countries combined.

True, China might have millions and millions of soldiers, but like I said, they can get wiped out with bombs in a second.

-- 26 Aug 2010, 16:56 --

We are talking about countries with governments and military, NOT terrorists organizations and groups/cells. You can't compare terror attacks on countries to attacks by government military.

If ANY country tried to invade the States, they wouldn't even get close, we would destroy their military in or over the oceans.

The use of "we" is very exaggerated. USA would not be attacked by another country, but even then, they were not ready for 9/11, so how are they going to be ready for a full attack by another country, if it would ever happen, which the probably would be close to impossible.

It doesn't make any difference; militant organizations or governments. If USA isn't ready for one of them, then they cannot be ready for the other, and it was definitely shown during 9/11 (excluding conspiracy theories etc.).

Also, why would any country need to invade USA? With a poor economy from the GFC, and limited resources, especially oil (BP), you'd be committing political suicide trying to run USA from an invasion.

USA really needs to get more organized I recon, and I dont even live there. The only news I ever see on the USA is bad news, I not taking sides here, but if all the world news on USA is only bad news must be some problems over there.

Why would there be good news? Why would other countries want to hear how great the US is?

^ That's clearly false.

And another thing for people that don't know about the United States politics. When someone registers as a voter, they can either join the Republican party, Democratic party or N/A meaning not any meaning Independent. If a person is not registered as a voter, then that person is unregistered, there's no such thing as a unregistered party.

I may be false (to you), but that doesn't make you correct. Some rebuttal would be nice, hence the purpose of a debate forum.

Wow... Independent is a political party. Contrary to popular belief, there are more than just two parties in the United States, Independents being one of them. Independent and unregistered are two completely different things.
