Very curious how people would feel about a forum desinged like this, but on XF or something else?

Also no it'd not be a 100 percent gaming forum due to reasons I've seen posted here and elsewhere. I am curious what you all would feel about a site/forum like this in 2022 standards. Sadly cannot access every single thing, but think early to mid 00s forums. No, the forum would be modern and look like any XF forum.

Edit: No, I am not making a forum like this for myself. I just am curious how people would feel seeing this design or concept in 2022.

I feel it's too "busy" looking honestly. People want more streamlined.

If you wanted to attract a retro crowd, you could use themes like that but with a modern twist to make it a little bit more comfortable on the eyes.

It reminds me of my first computer LOL

Dinosaurs would be happy with that site. 😱

I would not take any site that looks like that seriously today.

I have no desire to start a forum in 2023. This year I started 3 forums and I am working hard to build strong communities. It is real;ly difficult to sustain your forum if you are not spending any money.

Just think back then that you would not even think about it 😛 it was the days. Epic right? I mean I can't even tell what the flip to look at now from viewing it

Even back then I probably wouldn't have joined that site. It's just too cluttered, and not organized at all. Plus I like the look of traditional forums.

That is a site I would not be able to use at all. It definitely looks like a site you would have seen about 15 years ago on the internet. I would find myself getting frustrated using the site due to how compact everything is and how the layout is. Definitely not a site for me.

Honestly the forum was not near as bad to navigate. I have very little nostalgia for GameTalk, but this was one of the top gaming forums back then. I cannot talk bad on it's legacy and what it did. It was around the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii era I think this forum/site closed sadly. So many forums and sites changed or closed around that time, sadly!

I googled stuff as a kid/teen, and sometimes there'd be discussions on how to beat a boss in a game, pokemon game tips/hints, etc as the result. Nowadays I'd not be super against this concept/idea, but it didn't really work out for me as much.

Yep, sadly. Discussion Block was doing great at first, then activity just slowed down. It is hard to sustain a forum for sure, sadly.

Wow, that link brings back memories XD I agree though, I don't think a forum set up would work these days.

OK safe to say no one would have registered on a forum like this in 2022 or 2023. Yeah, the forum for sure stood the test of time and shut down around like 2008...ish or so? Was an amazing resource and tool back during the early Internet days though.

It's proper old school, which I love from a nostalgic point of view, but I wouldn't want to repeatedly visit that site.

I'm keen to know if anyone is still a fan of old style websites / raw HTML/CSS though?
