Would you report your family?

If you found out a family member, wife, husband, girlfriend, boyfriend, etc. had committed theft, would you report them to the authorities? Seen this debate elsewhere and I wanted to see FP's response on this topic as well.

It depends on what the theft was, and who or where the item was taken from. Prescription drugs and valuable items I'd report family over, even though they are family, because I have had family steal things like that before and they were never dealt with properly to get them to stop.

An article stated someones significant other had found the neighbor's credit card and used it to buy things on Amazon and have it delivered to their neighbor's address. They person who committed the fraud snatched the items as they got delivered and then filed a claim saying they never got the item. So essentially, stealing from amazing too.

Depends on the situation and the person. But it could very well be possible even for someone related closely - like my 7-year-old nephew; Nah, just kidding!

If your grandparents were committing card theft, you wouldn't report it? Would you want it reported if someone stole your grandparents' card information and was using it?

Of course I would because want it reported because that is my grandparent. Reporting someone who steals from you and your family is much easier to do than to report a family member, you loved and new from birth.

Doing it is an act of treachery. None of us are thieves, but betraying your own family is pretty low.
