So say some1 is like "How do i start a business"
I would say.
Well first of all its very hard. You need alot of prep and blah blah blah..
give them some information about it but make them hungry for more.
Then i would say - I have had a company for 7 years (which i have) . I recently created a small business forum to help people like you. Its relatively new, and im trying to get people to join. I ahve a beginners guide on how tos tart a business on there. Check it out http://www.companydreams.com

I have been doing this lately. Seems to work. Dont ask questions and try to promote your site there though, you get banned.

Try adwords or similar program to get traffic. If you want to make money you need to make an investment first...

It's not a bad technique but I don't know if you can get members this way.

I've done this a couple times but it didn't really help. And I used adwords for awhile. A month later and 50 dollars in the hole and not one single person joined. So I won't go that route again either.

I don't know how it would be cheating...

I have been doing this for a month now, and have about 5 members that found my site and registered because they saw my link on Yahoo Answers.
They are also active members.

I think it is a simple way to get some traffic and members.

Post your link in a non spam way and people might click it.

I wouldn`t personally do this, My reasons are, if people look at it as spam, then word will spread, and no one will want join your site.

If that`s the case then mate, you need to make your site more appealing. Add some exciting new features/content and make people join the your site, I don`t mean physically, if visitors feel your site looks good then they will join.
