Young Girl Sued for handing out Fliers

A girl is being sued because she handed out fliers to a church Christmas Party (I believe, I'm probably wrong). Apparently the school doesn't allow this to a new extent.

I think (without bringing any amendments into this) all she did was pretty much say "Hey Church Party" and with a flyer and address. She didn't teach anything religious, she didn't force them to go, and I'm pretty sure she didn't force them to take a flier either so I fail to see why they have to sue.

Eh, school systems using double standards is pretty common, doubt anything will happen to them. Do I think they acted correctly? From what I read, no but I don't necessarily know what the fliers said so I can't be 100% positive.

The Alliance Defense Fund filed the suit against the Pocono Mountain School District on behalf of an unidentified student at Barrett Elementary Center in Cresco, the Scranton Times Tribune reported.

The school definitely seems to have acted unfairly, but like Gimgak said we don't know exactly what the fliers said, so who knows. I think it's fine for them to have the fliers approved, but I seriously doubt anything a fifth grade girl is going to be handing out will be inappropriate, so I don't blame the ADF for taking some action.

if the school in any way endorsed it then yes the district deserves to be sued

Yeah the lady on fox news in the afternoon is the worst. The blond one, she's like "UMMM THE PRESIDENT OF ITALY IS HAVING SEX WITH A GIRL AND SHES UNDER 18 SO HE CANT"

First of all lady, the age of consent is not 18 even in most US states, and second of all, any idiot on the street knows that the age of consent in Italy of all places is going to be ssignificantly lower than anywhere else. I think it's 14?

It sucks now that olbermann quit MSNBC I don't even watch any of the networks in the evening anymore I used to watch him and rachel maddow but now I just don't watch either.

I don't/didn't watch either, but I think they're both awesome.

Rachel Maddow is the only real liberal still on the air now. I wonder how long it'll be until the conservative media shuts her down.

she's not as much of a dick as olbermann is so i doubt she'll get shut down by the networks like he did. i mean they did have some justification for shutting him down the guy was a complete asshole to the executives and he is extremely full of himself i mean i watched him every night although i agree with his politics he doesn't seem like the kind of nice guy you want to go out and have a beer with he just seemed like a total dick.
