I would like to discuss the state of the economy and how it is impacting the youth. I'm sure you are all aware of how to get experience, you have to get experience, but jobs don't want to hire people with no experience. College graduates especially are stuck in a hard place in loads of debt. What is your attitude towards this common behavior of employers in our society?

Work a job during college or high school. It's not any employer's fault that you don't have any real world experience.

You have a point. My siblings now, especially, are getting involved in high school activities. It is always important to be involved. To play devil's advocate, employers either want the right type of experience, or they want a lot of experience, which a young college or high school student won't have. They compare them to other seasoned professionals. My roommate is very young, and she was talking about how she could get rejected from medical school since they would want to hire older and more experienced people over her. In her words, if they don't take her, someone else will.

There might be more ways to get experience than people think. For instance, someone could set up a blog etc.. or do volunteer work.

That behavior of employers regarding hiring of experienced workers have been with us since a long time ago. But we cannot argue that employers only hire those with experience, that is not factual. When I graduated from college, what's on my mind was how to get work experience. I applied in any vacancy that I learned, underwent countless of interviews and was finally hired by a bank despite not having any work experience. My take on the issue is that employers prefer experienced job applicants but not exclusively.
