Relay is a Reddit alternative that uses an earlier yet modern design of Reddit, keeping the Reddit feel while being easy to navigate and use, and not imposing any of the modern design that Reddit is currently pushing out.
It offers free and open discussion, with user freedom, easy access and helpful support to cater to users and create the best possible discussion environment for them.
While communities are still created, managed, and moderated by other users, there's a Moderator Code of Conduct that imposes a list of policies against moderators to make sure that environments are kept non-toxic and friendly, and to prevent power abuse. There are also site-wide admins that only get involved to action against communities made for breaking rules.
Relay is an attempt to provide a Reddit experience, while also providing newer and more useful features that users can utilise for a better experience, including already existing Reddit premium features for free, and more. Relay will never be paid, all features will be offered to users with no cost.
Alongside this, it is also an attempt to foster a community where anyone can fit in anywhere, instead of constant disagreements and everywhere sticking to themselves, we hope to create a space where everyone is welcoming to each other. That doesn't mean users can't specifically make communities catered to a specific subject and require users to stay on-topic, we understand that people might go to a community called cheese, branded about cheese, and described as nothing but cheese, only to check the posts and see everyone is actually talking about how to set up a tent.
The site is not currently released, but we'd love to hear your feedback on how we could build this to be the best possible experience for when we do release to the public. Anyone questions in the comments we'll answer to the best of our ability.
