Hi there all of you and welcome to Hortorian.com.
Hortorian is a young writers blog and forum, that myself and a large number of other people have been working on since last December. It's mission is to create a community where writers can help each other improve. This is not only for serious writers who are hell bent on getting published , but all you hobby writers out there.
Our mainpage has plenty of content articles which will provide you with lots of helpful advice on how to improve your craft. Due to our affilation with a book review website, ThirstForFiction.com, we will be also providing you with regular book reviews. In the past, we've done questions and answers sessions with authors such as Dan Wells and Tantz Aerine, and we will do so again in the future.
In order to encourage our writers and artists, we have regular events around the forums. Each year (starting from this year), we host the All Forum Battle, in which participants can challenge each other to short story, poetry and art duels (graphics, photography, paintings etc). When the AFB is not going, we also hold short story and poetry competitions. Currently there are several ''battles'' going on in our Art section, and we'll be holding Sig of the Month competitions, with the intention of increasing that to Sig of the Week when we get more participation.
