Welcome to rForums!
Open Source Forum Software

rForums is open-source forum software aiming to bring you the best user and admin experience in a forum. With the next installment of rForums on its way, we plan on delivering beautiful, efficient and secure forum software.

The Beginning
rForums was originally a small project, created by Russell Barnard in October, 2010. It was soon joined by Colin Berry, who has played a major role in the designing of past and future software. rForums quickly progressed to version 1.5 but all was lost with the closure of the current host. But rForums was definitely not out of the game. It was brought back with the support of Canada (Support Moderator) and Ben (Project Manager).

After the loss of some epic progress, rForums moved to a ProBoards hosted Development Board and the team was then joined by genius developer, moneyman18. But after realizing that the coding process was going to take more than 3 people, rForums decided it would be best to recruit some more highly skilled developers if they wanted the software to meet their expectations.
We are now a 8 man team, developing the next generation of forums.

What is Toast?
rForums - Toast is the next major release of our forum software, also known as rForums 2 or rF2. While there is no set release date for it, progress is being made.

The rForums Community
rForums is all about the community, and is very much a community orientated project. Input from anyone is always widely accepted and is never brushed aside. rForums thrives on the direct involvement of the community.

How can I support rForums?
Any support for the rForums project is appreciated! From posting feedback and ideas on our Development Board, to advertising on your forum, anything is welcomed!

Re: rForums • Open Source Forum Software

It's alright for a simple forum but do not like it really.

Re: rForums • Open Source Forum Software

Not that much of a fan of it, however I commend you on the effort. Good luck!

Re: rForums • Open Source Forum Software

IS looking good 😀

Re: rForums • Open Source Forum Software

I believe the forum software is improving all the time, so it could be to your liking one day.

Russell is a good friend of mine so it would be nice to see some of you guys support this. I'd be thankful. 🙂

Re: rForums • Open Source Forum Software

@tutorials4all - Thanks!

@fluffybunny - Thanks for signing up and posting! If you check out the latest v2 mock ups you'll see a vast improvement.

@Darthmaul - It's not my site. 😛 I'm just a Moderator and promoting it.

@lforum - Thanks.

@2787Cmt - 😀

Remember, it's not my site - But I will pass all feedback on to the Developers.

Re: rForums • Open Source Forum Software

xP Beta is actually expected in Fall of this year! 😛

Nevermind this, its Fall for the Northern Hemisphere.

Re: rForums • Open Source Forum Software

The overall look will need to improve, which I'm more then sure it will. The speed is fast and not laggy. I'll look back at it when it's in beta!

Re: rForums • Open Source Forum Software

@Colin - Fall your time, Spring my time. 😛 :lol:

@Chris - If you check out the latest mock ups you'll see what is currently being developed as a possible default theme to come out with v2.

Re: rForums • Open Source Forum Software

Ohhhhh.

Also: Mockups are pretty rough for the time being. I still have to redo the headers and maybe spice up the main forum bits.

Re: rForums • Open Source Forum Software

Good luck, there are many competing forums already, though! 😛

Re: rForums • Open Source Forum Software

Thank you.

That's true, however, there isn't much free forum software that really stands out. We aim to add things that really make it stand out from the other forum software.

Re: rForums • Open Source Forum Software

An Update: We are using ProBoards to host our Development Board. Several Weeks ago there was a error with the host and we lost the rF system. Development has since resumed on rForums 2, Nicknamed Toast.

Re: rForums • Open Source Forum Software

:lol: Epic name mate. I now want it 😛

Re: rForums • Open Source Forum Software

Haha Thanks!

We've had some changes recently: Canada was promoted to his old position of Support Moderator, moneyman was promoted to a Programmer and Ben was given the role of Project Manager. Also, the header has changed. 🙂
