Maybe you can try to create a revenue sharing gaming social network.
That means, when people are active in your site they can be given points. People can redeem those points for cool prizes and cash.
Swagbucks did something like this and I feel they have gotten great success.

Global cross-platform cross-game leaderboard system. What I mean by this is that you link your account to Xbox, PS, etc and it takes statistics from a variety of games. In this leaderboard you'd be able to narrow down your search to per-game and to per-platform but you could also view global statistics. Now you may be wondering, how can a game about shooting be in the same leader board as a game about horse riding? Well users would gain a score from what achievements (using the platforms trophy system) they've gained and for well-known games you could actually add in a piece of code for example converting every call of duty kill into one score point. This may be impossible, I'm not sure but it'd be a good idea.
