Re: Losing passion for your forum
I have had Advertising forums for a number of years. Yes in the last couple years when the big spammer wave hit I actually closed two of my boards down for a while.
One I just closed completely and the other I just re opened, I deleted about 14500 members off the top and left about 600+ of the better posters. These are free boards.
We had explored Social networks and Blogs for a couple years, and made some discoveries that were just fantastic. The combination of Blogs and forums are unstoppable. With the linking of RSS feeds and bookmarking sites, unbelievable.
So we have spent the better part of a year now designing and implementing a system to push blogs, ultimately anything the blog is hooked into yet indexed and recognition.
This isn't rocket science, or anything black hat. Ti is just taking what is available and hooking it all up so it works to everyone's advantage.
We are in the second stage of testing now.
How can you get board with a site if you are always trying to make it better.
Of course we are totally into making money and that never gets boring.
