A 20-year-old woman in Australia was convicted for sticking googly eyes on the $136k “Blue Blob” sculpture in Mount Gambier — a piece many locals never wanted.

She did it while drunk and on drugs “to make it look funny,” causing damage. The court ordered $2,000–$3,000 AUD compensation and 60 hours of community service.

Isn’t there better things the money could have been spent on? What do you think — art or waste?

If STICKERS can do such great damage, then that piece of art wasn't created to last a long time anyway.

all she did was improve it

So she got in trouble for adding googly eyes to a eyesore that people didn't even want? xD I think the eyes do make it look better! What a waste of money, also the punishment is a bit too harsh IMO. Sure she shouldn't have vandalized public property, but did she really need to do community service and pay a fee?

Literally what I was thinking. It’s stickers, come on!
