Notes?:
We are looking for a graphic designer to come on board for a space of 1 month, to help improve our graphics and revamp our network. Mostly the images would be small advertising ones advertising competitions, newsletter subscriptions etc however may include the odd banner, or odd follow us on twitter/facebook image.

Wanted to post this in the looking for staff section however last time it was moved to this thread so thought I would start it here this time.

- So here is the deal you come on board, sign the agreement, at the end of the month after the banners are completed you receive the $150USD Cash, plus there will be a small bonus involved.

PM Me or RESPOND to this thread if you are interested.

The work will not only be for our sport site it will be for all of our websites on the network. EG: Gabble Forums, Rockstar Gaming, Mums Recipe, The UneXplainable and Sports Force - we are looking at doing a full revamp, fresh look, but image wise as mentioned previously would only be small images.

So are we talking about a real designer or just some one who will paste a pre made icon on a background ?

And what is your guarantee that you will actually pay?

You don't need to spend that much. Just pay $20 a week for 4 weeks. Provide $10 at the beginning of the week and $10 at the end. You're extra $50 could be a bonus, or be spent elsewhere.

If you're spending this much, atleast make sure the guy has been to college for this, or has a good reputation in designs. Ask for proof.

Don't be too attracted by "Tech-Templates", as many times, those who design these type of templates have access to a multitude of tutorials. It's not bad. Just make sure they are capable of a variety.

Why would you even say that? He's offering $150, why wouldn't you take the opportunity?

I don't want him to be ripped off. He's spending alot of money, so I'm just giving advise. 🙂

Well I have asked to pay on per piece basis that way neither of us will get ripped off.

Or you could set a pay for every 3 days or something. 🙂 But yes, anything but a sudden $150 transfer is fine.

yes and if the 150$ transfer won't work out then the designer will feel ripped off and if designs aren't upto the price then he will feel ripped off so it's best to take the payment in small steps.

Good Point and I understand everything you have said - however with my work I only get paid monthly, and so at the end of each month my pay comes in, bills get paid, hosting gets paid, real life stuff gets paid and then it's no money for the remainder of the month - so paying on a per graphic basis, or paying weekly is not an option for me at this stage.

I have done the calculations from my pay and this is what I can afford, with some spending money for the month left over (eg: petrol, lunches etc) which is why the offer was put out for what it was.

GFX Designer comes on board, helps us with a nice cool re-design of some of our dodgy graphics at the end of the month when I get paid they get their cash (plus all of my FP cash) then next month (being the end of financial year) I get my tax return as well which is where they would get the cash bonus. The cash bonus was introduced for being trusty.

Evidence that we would pay - everyone I have dealt with has been paid, there has been one person that I went to pay at 3am in the morning and forgot to finalize the payment he PM'd me the next day to inform me he wasn't paid and payment was made immediately.

Further to this - the Sports website involved in our network has been around for coming up to four years, the only down time was when we were hacked 12 months ago and spent 1 week off line re-designing, this is not like other websites that were started just to flog off trying to make a profit this is what I do - sport is my life and after dislocating my neck and being told I may never walk again (which I do just fine) I have not been able to return to sport so my love for sport saw the creation of my sport website.

Adding further to this is that no expense has been spared on my sport site, vBulletin Publishing Suite + Branding Free, most of the modifications we have spent the extra to get Branding Free for, we owned (until recently) all of the associated country domains for our sport site (eg: .co.uk, .co.nz etc).

All of the boards on our network have been done with themes purchased for them, and branding free on top - and for the Sports Site we have just most recently spent $1000USD on a 100% custom fantasy cricket script which we are working on to launch for the upcoming Australian and New Zealand summer.

Competitions within the network mainly revolve around cash prizes, or large gift card prizes (eg: $500 AMAZON Gift Card, $300 CASH, $400 iTunes).

I do not rip people off, I have dignity and respect for myself and the brand I am attempting to build (Sportainment Media Group) and therefore if I rip just one person off my brand will forever be ruined, the hard work I have put in for four years on my sport website would be ruined.

The above is written to show that I do pay people, I am honest (I didn't have to tell you guys about the mishap) and that the deal is what it is - you come and help us for the next month you will get paid, you will be paid a bonus and you won't be disappointed.

On top of this we are adding advertising locations on the network and whoever helps us will receive a prominent advertisement on the network for a month, that will be seen by each of our members and guests, even if they have a number of sites they can have a different one on each of our boards - that is something we can discuss depending on what is wanted.

-- 08 Jul 2011, 12:30 --

This position has been taken by Dy.namiks.
